Ich möchte hier nochmal kurz auf meine Foto-Website hinweisen, auf der ich einige Fotos von Australien habe, die nicht in meinem Blog sind. Schaut also auch immer mal wieder dort vorbei 😉

Ach ja, von 99,9% meiner Einträge ist nur ein kleiner Teil auf der Startseite zu sehen, um den ganzen Post mit allen Bildern zu sehen müsst ihr auf „Mehr“ oder den Titel klicken!

Und wenn wir gerade dabei sind – auch wenn es bei den Fotos nicht ausdrücklich dabeisteht, sind alle Bilder und auch Texte von mir Urheberrechtlich geschützt! Crocs, chopper and a crater

So, after I found a new travel budy and finally got up and left Broome it was time to take on the Gibb River Road. A stretch of about 600 km gravel road with no towns or any civilisation. Apart from a handful of Roadhouses along the way.
Here’s another time that 160 L tank plus a total of 60 L in Jerry Cans came in handy. Because we didn’t have to fuel up once at those expensive Roadhouses.

Enjoying a relaxed life

I only intended to stay in Broome for a few days but got stuck there for almost a month. Haha
But I can’t complain too much because I had an awesome time there and met awesome people.
Plus the weather was just perfect with sunshine and blue skies at 35°C every day so I actually didn’t even want to leave.

Take only pictures, leave only foot prints

The next big stop after Monkey Mia was Exmouth or rather Cape Range NP and the Ningaloo Reef. However, we first got to Coral Bay which everybody said is supposed to be amazing… well, turned out it was nothing but a place packed with a million tourists staying in the two campsites.. and appart from a little grocery store that’s all there is in Coral Bay. The beach is okay but

Finally it’s time to travel again. I was looking forward to see the West Coast of Australia ever since I got here the first time and now after 2 years of waiting I get to tackle the most beautiful part of the country.

Nach ca sechs Wochen (5 1/4, wenn man die „Schlecht-Wetter-Woche“ abzieht) auf der Farm bekam ich Anfang der Woche gesagt, dass es nur noch bis Freitag Arbeit gibt.

Off to the beach

Da für Donnerstag und Freitag „schlechtes“ Wetter vorausgesagt war, musste ich die Tage freinehmen. Und da ich nicht die ganze Zeit hier herumhocken wollte, habe ich mich kurzerhand entschieden, trotz Regen und eisigen 14°C in den 150km entfernten Cape Le Grand National Park zu fahren und dort zu campen.

Mäh!

In Perth angekommen und nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten ein Hostel zu finden, das bezahlbar und nicht komplett versifft war, habe ich begonnen nach Farmarbeit und einem Auto zu suchen. Da aber tagelang so gut wie keine Jobangebote auf Gumtree kamen hatte ich die Hoffnung schon fast aufgegeben. Obwohl ich mir nicht viel davon versprochen hatte, habe ich trotzdem selbst eine Anzeige dort eingestellt, dass ich nach Arbeit suche. Denn wer sucht schon selbst nach Leuten, wenn er einfach eine Anzeige dort schreiben kann und innerhalb von 5 Minuten 20 Anfragen bekommt?

4000km Road Trip

Back to Australia! 🙂

After landing in Melbourne on the 18th of April 2013 I spent the first two weeks staying in the city and visiting my relatives in the area waiting for an answer for a job I applied to.
After two weeks went to see the guys from the farm I’ve worked on last year and stayed with them for another week or so, still waiting for a reply.
When I finally got it, it wasn’t happy news at all as they didn’t need me. So in a quick decision I called up a friend I met last year who was road tripping from Sydney to Perth to give me a lift over to WA where I wanted to go eventually.
A couple days later I found myself on the road again. In for a 4000km journey which should take about two weeks.

Sleepy in Seattle

Normally flights to Australia go via Dubai or somewhere in Asia. But I thought I might as well go the other way around and visit my friend Cori in Seattle, USA.
So I spent about two weeks basically eating my way through the city having all the food the stereotyped American eats all the time. The food that’s not good for you at all. The food that just tasts so great you eat it anyway.
But it wasn’t all Hamburgers and Root Beer

Second Working Holiday Visa

„This is to advise that you have been granted a Working Holiday Visa, Subclass 417, on 19 December 2012.“

Woohoo! Mein 2. WHV ist genehmigt worden, das heißt ich kann wieder zurück ins Land der Träume! 🙂
Nun geht quasi wieder alles von vorne los. Nur diesmal ohne Organisation. Und weniger drum rum, wie Koffer raussuchen, Bankkonto eröffnen und den ganzen Stress.
Ich muss nur noch den Flug buchen, eine Auslandskrankenversicherung abschließen und packen! …. Glaube ich…
Jedenfalls ist der Plan, im April wieder nach Oz zu fliegen und ein weiteres Jahr zu worken und zu travellen.
Ich bin schon gespannt, wie das wird 🙂
In der Zwischenzeit sollte ich wohl mal die Artikel von der letzten Reise alle hochstellen. Bzw schreiben. Haha

*Update* Der Flug ist inzwischen auch gebucht und ich lande nun planmäßig mitte April in Melbourne x)
